The Many faces of the "noble" wolf. I've been meaning to make a compilation of these three grey wolves' expressions for some time now!! It always amazes me how emotionally expressive these animals are, when one factors in body language.

I swear they can understand us just fine, and they were doing this on purpose because it made me laugh. >>

Lanky, Sholo, and Rambo are 3 beautiful Grey wolves raised by Troy Hyde at his compound, Animals of Montana. These shots are from me photoshoot with them.

Most of this is common behavior among wolves. We see a wide variety of 'what the hell is going on here'? faces, so I'll list the various behaviors displayed, and you can figure out which ones they are.

-licking sides of mouth
-eating snow
-licking up inside nose
-shaking head
-panting
-running hard with tongue out
-barking or whining
-eating pieces of raw chicken
-"greeting" behavior to other wolves
-aggressive behavior toward other wolves
-licking nose

These pictures are beautifully taken, and you have great leading lines to your main photo. Unfortunately, some of your pictures seem to be stretched awkwardly. Making sure that your photos are matched together by size without altering the original proportions will fix the issue. Also, you seem to focus particularly on one wolf, having many photos of him in particular. When composing, I suggest having a pattern and trying to have a nearly equal amount of photos of each subject. The use of the photo with all three wolves as the main photo was a great idea. Overall, you took beautiful pictures and the wolves were very cooperative. The wide range of emotions, and goofy outlook, was a common theme you managed to keep throughout the composition.
